This Saturday 9 April, they return to the venue with “Sambowdromo Do Brasil.”

For the first time, the event carries on into the daytime of Sunday 10 April, taking full advantage of Avant Gardner’s indoor/outdoor setting — which comprises The Brooklyn Mirage, The Great Hall and The Kings Hall — and the first signs of spring weather in the city.

More than a techno-house rave, “Sambowdromo Do Brasil” will be a full-on Afro-tech-house sonic experience, infused with traditional Brazilian sounds — think samba, bossa nova, tropicalia. It will be a feast for the eyes too, with drummers, dancers, otherworldly creatures, and the hallucinogenic scenery befitting of a jungle street party.

That’s not to mention the spectacle of the clubgoers themselves who, as always, will dress to the nines. Feathers are highly encouraged.

“The Brooklyn Mirage at Avant Gardner is a venue that holds a soft spot in my heart for many reasons,” said DJ Will Clarke, who performs on Sunday. “Let's start off with NYC is my favorite city in America, maybe in the world, with the history of house music coming from New York with iconic venues such as The Loft, Limelight, Paradise Garage, Studio54, the list goes on.

“I'm happy to say that I feel that Brooklyn Mirage and Avant Gardner are going to be talked about like those venues in years to come. It's about creating community for the new generation of ravers — which I feel it does perfectly. As a DJ playing there its something very special. It's a little different than playing a small underground basement club — this feels more like a festival stage but you still have a connection with the crowd.”
